Although we had no funding, we recognised the area had unmet needs. Our work in Nottingham has since grown and developed and funding has allowed us to move into new areas including St Ann’s. We are very keen to continue to work in partnership across the City of Nottingham.
Over the past 5 years in Nottingham we have delivered The Key, which is our alternative education program for 14-16 year olds. We work with young people at risk of exclusion, equipping them with life skills as well as other key skills such as numeracy, literacy and ICT in an environment conducive to personal development in order to get them career ready. We have delivered this program in Clifton but we welcome the opportunity to develop work in new areas of the city.
We also deliver our Triple R Mentoring Programme along with workshops and youth clubs that are both educational and diversionary. During the school holidays we provide activities for local young people including health workshops, employability sessions, citizenship and community leadership training and fun trips and activities to keep young people entertained and engaging positively with the community.
