Social Enterprise

Aiming to become self sufficient

We recognise that we cannot continue to rely on external sources of funding and so have set in place processes to develop a series of Social Enterprises. The aim is for us to develop sustainable social enterprises with the dual aim of providing a vehicle for young people to gain paid employment, training and volunteering opportunities as well as providing a source of income to deliver our core services. Persistent unemployment is a significant barrier for the young people we work with. We believe that social enterprise will complement our existing programmes and offer a more complete support network for young people and allow us to expand our projects and focus our attention on finding innovative and entrepreneurial routes out of unemployment for young people.

The Derby BAG project

This social enterprise project aims to utilise the creativity of young people, working alongside local artists, in the creation of ‘Bags for life’. These bags, displaying the artwork of local young people, will then be sold in supermarkets, markets and online. A straightforward business plan allows us to encourage the potential of young people, create a meaningful experience for them and generate funds for Enthusiasm. We are keen to work with partners on this project, with young people, local artists and businesses. If you are interested, please get in touch on 01332 362479 or follow us on Twitter with @BAGDerby

Charity Shop

Enthusiasm is currently looking to set up its first charity shop. Based in the heart of Allenton, this shop will form an important part of our work in the community. It will create paid employment along with providing training and volunteering opportunities for the local community.

We are always looking for good quality stock to sell and all donations will be welcomed. If you have anything you would like to donate please call us on 01332 362479.

Reaching Communities

Enthusiasm has a strong reputation for delivering community clean-up projects and gardening work with young people.

We have recently been awarded a grant to enable us to set up an environmental social enterprise that offers volunteering, training and employment opportunities for local young people. This is a really exciting opportunity for us and we will keep you updated on our progress.
