Get Connected Programme innovation training serious youth violence gangs and county line Enthusiasm Trust Joseph Russo

Superintendent Peter Bent, Central Area Command at Northumbria Police gives an overview and feedback about The Get Connected Programme delivered by Enthusiasm Trust.

Enthusiasm is recognised as an example of good practice by The Home Office in respect of our work with young people who are most at risk of offending and social exclusion. Enthusiasm has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of the work we do with young people in the local community.

Get Connected is an innovative training programme built on the foundation of our experience of direct delivery and learning over the last 25 years. Get Connected allows us to share our experience and knowledge with other organisations so that they can benefit from the things we have learned. The 2-part Get Connected programme is delivered through five practical workshops and five events delivered over a period of one year. Our first hand expertise delivers on the following government priorities:

  • Tackle county lines – the exploitation of vulnerable people by gang members to sell drugs.
  • Protect vulnerable locations – the places where vulnerable young people are targeted.
  • Reduce violence and knife crime.
  • Safeguard gang-associated young people.
  • Promote early intervention.
  • Promote meaningful alternatives to gangs such as education, training and employment.

To arrange a face-to-face meeting to discuss The Get Connected Programme and how it can benefit your area, we will arrange for a member of the Get Connected team to contact you.
